A lovely vintage silver-plated flask by Apollo, 1940s. This lightly hammered silver-plated flask features a "swing arm" (that connects to the cap and body of the flask and smooth "box" on the front where one can engrave their initials, if they choose to. This flask has a magical feel to it. It's solid and well-crafted. The cap still has its original cork. The silver-plating is so vibrant, it was tough to capture photos of the flask without capturing items in the room (i.e. our wooden ceiling beams). The texture is a subtle "hammered" texture. Truly a lovely antique flask.
Condition: Good vintage condition with mild signs of age/general wear. We're pretty Type A about the exact condition of our vintage pieces, so here's a full summary:
1) The silver-plating is in good shape overall but does show mild "general surface wear" including micro fine "scratches" here and there (from past handling, how it might have been stored, etc)
2) The cork is in excellent shape and fully in tact
3) There's tarnish/patina in some of the hammered areas (we have not polished this piece)
3) There are two micro small dings on the screw cap (on the edge) -- see photo
4) There's a very subtle concaved area on the front left (it doesn't seem like a deep ding, perhaps a manufacturing occurrences?) - either way, we're mentioning it here in the Conditions Summary
This flask has a very subtle "c" curve to it (most all vintage flasks do, but we wanted to mention it). The swing arm and cap work perfectly. In short, this flask is in good vintage condition overall but does show signs of age/general wear. Truly a lovely small flask that has a magical feel to it.
**Please Note: we typically do not test our flasks for leakage. We offer a variety of vintage flasks (both usable as well as collectible/display only). We are happy to put our flasks through a thorough leakage test (which involves filling it with liquid and rigorously shaking it) -- please message us if you'd like us to test this particular flask. Cheers!
